we could hear the trains again.
Pairing: Zach/Chris
Rating: PG-13 (mild profanity.)

A/N: Short drabble written during the epic procrastinating hour of epic procrastination. Unbeta-ed.

When Zach looks into Chris' eyes, he tries to see past all the clichés and the purple prose. They're not the bottomless pools of clear skies after a rainy day, nor are they wistful hues that sing emotions even the deaf can hear because one: hues are colors, not organs, and two: it's Chris and he's human, so therefore, his eyes shouldn't be as enigmatic as everyone makes them seem.

Zach tries to cheat by taking a picture of Chris and analyzing it via Photoshop, but the program just spits back a jumble of letters and numbers that aren't a real, pronounceable color. So he asks around.

Well, he asks Harold, but the cat just glares a "Fuck off, you obsessive freak," glare and goes back to sleep. Noah simply stares up at Zach, ready to catch his ball, should Zach ever decide to throw it. "You don't think Chris is a 'Rubik's cube of literature and charm,' do you?" Zach asks him. Noah blinks.

He turns back to his computer as it pings the arrival of new e-mail.

the mssr. is required.

i liked this picture.
i think i'll move to nyc. the paps are nicer here.

Zach opens the attachment and Chris pops up in dimensions bigger than Zach's desktop can contain, but Chris is right, it is a good picture. It's simple, just Chris and a small stuffed elephant.

It snows in NYC.

He looks at the picture again, and this time, really, really focuses on Chris' face. Stubble. Acne scars. Sincere, happy smile. Then finally, his eyes, and when Zach looks into Chris' eyes, he sees blue and a whole fucking lot of it.

I like this. It's sweet and concise. I like the simplicity. Also, Rubik's cube of literature and charm wins at least some internets.

Aaaw!

I love!

Asking your pets´s opinion? So cute and so insane you could never admit to it - I bet Zach does it all the time! :D

I do, too, actually :D

Only my dog reacts always like Harold :D She will talk a lot to me about her day and all the exciting things she done/saw, but when I want to tell her something...? :D

Awwww. Every time I started talking to my dog, he would give me his "I care! Really!" face and then go back to watching the cars drive by. XD

This is so fantastic! I love the last line! Chris's eyes are as enigmatic as Zach's hair. It's understandable that ZQ would be so obsessed with them. It would be hypocritical for me to say otherwise though XD

Perfect, cute mini-fic that I adored. :)
I knew what picture Zach was looking as soon as he started describing it, heh, I feel like a loser.

It also reminded me of that other picture taken in NYC, with Chris and the red hankie in his back pocket, hahahaha. XD

It makes me sad though, because the boys should not be on opposite ends of the country! It's so wrong!! :-(
